Steering a pirate ship is a complex task, and no two members of [[Dear Future Archaeologists|the crew]] seem to agree on how to do it. With strong personalities setting things up their way at every opportunity, soon enough nobody knew how the whole thing worked, and the rigging became an incomprehensible tangle. it is from this mess that the entity known as [[Captain Mabel Cannagement]] spawned. While it's not clear which of the dark magics or [[merch|cursed objects]] of the crew caused the humanoid tangle of ropes to take life, what is clear is that this entity was more capable of sorting a mess than any human. With terrifying efficiency, it replaced every other rigger and puller, causing at least one pirate to jump in to the ocean in despair, never to be heard from again. While the crew was in the middle of debating whether to leave it be or destroy it, [[Captain Violent|Captain Emeritus Violent]] discovered it playing a mournful banjo tune in the wee hours of the morning. Recognizing the depth of the entity's human-like emotion and consciousness despite its lack of a mouth, it was officially made part of the crew and the rest of the pirates slowly grew warmer to its alien ways, although many don't let it into their quarters out of fear that it will not be able to resist the urge to tidy things up.
